Palestine has again succeeded in issuing an important international resolution from the UNESCO denying any historical, religious or cultural link to the Jews to Al quds and the holly mosque.
The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) renewed in a new resolution on May 2, 2017, that Israel was an occupier of Jerusalem.
The members of the Executive Council of UNESCO voted in private and closed session at the headquarters of the Organization in Paris in favor of confirming the previous decisions of the organization. The resolution was passed by 22 votes to 10, with the absence of the remaining countries. Palestine made the decision in coordination with Jordan and with the support of the Arab countries.
This decision is an important development, it reaffirmed and recalled previous resolutions and reaffirmed that Israel is an occupying force and that all measures taken to enforce its law and administration, including the annexation of Jerusalem is null and void.
The Afro-Asian Peoples' Solidarity Organization expresses its sincere thanks to UNESCO for this decision, which is an important step to gain Palestinian rights.
