2016 WORLD CONFERENCE AGAINST A & H BOMBS

Declaration of the International Meeting

Seventy one years ago, the USA used nuclear bombs for the first time against humanity by releasing atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. With tremendous destructive power and radiation, the two bombs burned out the cities and claimed the lives of about 210,000 people by the end of the year. It was a hell on earth. The Hibakusha who survived then had to suffer from latent effects and social discrimination for many subsequent years. Such inhumane weapons should not be used again in any circumstances whatsoever.

HIROSHIMA AND NAGASAKI

The world was changed when a flash of light and a wall of fire destroyed a city and demonstrated that mankind possessed the means to destroy itself. On August 6, 1945 the US dropped an atomic bomb ("Little Boy") on Hiroshima in Japan. Three days later a second atomic bomb ("Fat Man") was dropped on the city of Nagasaki. These were the only times nuclear weapons have been used in war.

THE CONTINUOUS BOMBINGS IN IRAQ

The permanent secretariat is concerned with the continuous bombings in various Iraqi cities and the most serious and devastating bombing was in Al-Karada on the 3rd of July 2016, which left destruction and victims in an unprecedented way and this might reminds us with the brutally bombings of the United states of America in September 11, 2001 or an image of destruction in the second world war. We referred to this incident in conjunction with terrorist incidents that took place in different regions around the world. We are following the bombings in Iraq on a daily basis and this doesn't only indicates the criminal attitude of the groups but this last incident in Kazhimia and this large number of victims was just another act of this series. His Excellency the prime minister admitted that there are security failures and detection devices are not valid. This failure raises the global concern for the lack of solidity of the internal front to face the terrorist acts such as those we face.

ARAB SUMMIT IN NOUAKCHOTT

The Next Arab summit will be held in Mauritania's capital Nouakchott 25-26 July 2016. This summit will convene in unusual circumstances and in midst of critical challenges facing the Arab Region, as well as threatening the security, stability and unity of many Arab countries.
