AAPSO congratulates the Tunisian Quartet for winning the Nobel Peace Prize for the year 2015
The permanent secretariat of AAPSO received the news that the Nobel peace prize was awarded to the Tunisian Quartet which was formed in the summer of 2013 and includes the Tunisian General Labour Union, the Tunisian Confederation of Industry, Trade and Handicrafts , the Tunisian Human Rights League and the Tunisian Union of Lawyers.
This quartet had a civil dialogue in order to properly support the peaceful path of the Jasmine Revolution instead of mutual rivalries and the use of violence, this quartet forms the bulk of Tunisian civil society which has a mature attitude in resolving the contradictions between the Tunisian political forces and this helped in forming the national unity government.
We would like to salute this important event which was welcomed by the various world powers including the United Nations and European and African States, as it represents a correct approach in the practice of the civil society organizations to their responsible role to serve the interests of their peoples.
We also would like to salute the Tunisian Quartet and of course we can't forget to salute the Tunisian solidarity committee which is an effective part of the Tunisian civil society organizarions.
