International Women’s Day

International Women's Day is a time to reflect on progress made, to call for change and to celebrate acts of courage and determination by ordinary women who have played an extraordinary role in the history of their countries and communities.

 


This year's the united nation determine the theme "Empowering Women - Empowering Humanity" illustrate to the world how each woman and girl can exercise her rights , such as participating in politics, getting an education, having an income, and living in societies free from violence and discrimination.


On the occasion of International Women's Day 2015, we must mention to some realities such as the important role played by the Arab women in the Arab spring where it showed that No Arab Spring without women, also the Arab women's suffering from many difficulties such as illiteracy, no private income , and violence.


Women are paying a heavy price for violence flaring across the region including honor crimes, raping that increase especially after the hegemony of terrorist groups such as Daash , Al Quada members in some Arab counties as Iraq, Syria, and others.


A disturbing recent phenomena is the engagement of many women with the terrorist groups, which is an adverse phenomena facing considerable sections of women in different parts of the word.


On this International Women's Day, Afro Asian People's Solidarity Organization urge Governments, civil society and the private sector to commit to gender equality and the empowerment of women – as a fundamental human right and a force for the benefit of all. The energy, talent and strength of women and girls represent humankind's most valuable untapped natural resource.
