International Women’s Day (IWD) is celebrated on March 8th across the world

On the occasion of International Women's Day, we take this opportunity to renew the commitment of the economic, political and social achievements of women in the past, present and to focus on the issues that still challenge women.

The women are still facing many challenges especially in the developing countries such as promoting women’s empowerment and gender in equality, expanding women’s voice, leadership and participation, particularly through formal institutions such as political parties and electoral processes.

Poverty also is one of the main challenges that is facing women, so we must enhance the women’s economic empowerment.

Globally, millions of women and girls are subjected to all forms of violence, including sexual harassment and child marriages.

The Afro Asian People's Solidarity Organization – AAPSO always calls on enhancing women politically and economically, prevents violence against women, the promotion of women's rights in third world countries and the removal of all forms of discrimination.
