The Ambassador of Bangladesh in Cairo His Excellency Mizanur Rahman accompanied by a Bangladesh writer, journalist, Filmaker Mr. Sbabriar Kabir visited the secretariat on17th June 2013 to meet Mr.Nouri Abdul Razzak Hussain Secretary – General AAPSO , and Mr. Vidyasekera coordinator to ascertain the role played by them in assisting the Bangladesh revolution in 1971 .
As a leader in the Iraqi Peace and Solidarity council in Bagdad , Mr. Nouri was organizing meetings resolutions in support of the Bangladesh revolution in Bagdad .
In 1972 when the AAPSO congress was held in Cairo , a delegation of Iraqi Peace and Solidarity council which included Mr. Nouri participated in the 5th congress and supported the presence of a Bangladesh delegation as observer .
The congress accepted Bangladesh as a member of AAPSO. In Colombo Mr.Vidyasekera initiated setting up of Ceylon – Bangladesh solidarity committee of which he was the secretary.
Along with several other militants , meetings were organized in Colombo and Kandy in support of Bangladesh . He was also involved in organizing picket ting Pakistan film festival at Savoy a leading cinema in Colombo.
Also a well attended lecture by him was held at the New Town Hall, Colombo. Most of those who participated were trade union leaders and intellectuals.
A booklet was published in Sri Lanka language by his name and widely distributed. Newspaper both in Ceylon (Sri Lanka) and India had commentaries on the activities on Ceylon. Bangladesh solidarity committee.
A parallel organizations also set up known as protection of human rights in East Pakistan (Bangladesh) of which Vidiasekera took an active part .
Mr. Sbabriar Kabir who accompanied the Ambassador said that they are going round collecting the names of all who helped Bangladesh revolution in order to be invited to a forum in October 2013 in Dhaka .
