Assassination of Shokry Belaid

The permanent secretariat of Afro-Asian Peoples' Solidarity Organization issue the following statement :

The Afro-Asian Peoples Solidarity Organization  condemned the assassination of  the Tunisian politician Shokry Belaid, and considered  it a violence phenomenon against social  and political segments , and against all who have different  ideological  ideas which proved  that coexistence between Religiosity  and politics seem difficult .

AAPSO STATEMENT ON THE SITUATION IN MALI

Since the military coup d’Etat led by Amadou Sanogo on 22 March 2012, the overall situation in Mali has gone from bad to worst. Further on, a transitional  body had been set up to run the country and headed by Diuncunda Traore. But the threat of partition of Mali has raised deep concerns, frustration and consternation, now that different kinds of armed islamist and terrorist groups like Al-Qaeda. Al-Aqim, rebels Touareg and Ansar din…have hold sway on this northern part of the country.

MALI SHOULD BE PREVENTED FROM SLIDING INTO ABYSS

    Nurtured by poor socio-economic and political conditions in predominantly islamist, developing countries, a sentiment of revolt, anger and frustration has arousen among majority of population, progressively evolving to reach a state of socio-economic and political uprisings against oppressive, corrupt, autocratic regimes as demonstrated by Arab Spring phenomenon. While on  the sideline, some individual elements wanted dramatic and immediate changes of political leadership, societal fabrics and the living conditions by radical, extremist manner, giving birth to terrorist activities, seizing the opportunity of weakness with regard the army and the governing national insitutions. Against the background of non-existent even lack of viable infrastructures, combined with the proliferation of drug-trafficking activities, hostage-taking and porous frontiers  in the north of Mali, this  african country is a case in point.
